Bass Pricing

Most of my commissioned basses start at $25,000. I work closely with the customer to ensure it’s a good experience and an instrument they will be happy with for their whole career. With a commissioned bass, the buyer can choose string length, D or E flat neck, and neck profile. The choice of species of wood can also be made given what I have in stock at the time. Flat backs require less material and labor, giving the player a $1,500 reduction in the final price. I occasionally have a spec bass, or non-commissioned, that usually goes for a lower price. There are times I’ll have a bass at Hammond Ashley Violin shop if a customer wants to take it for a test spin.
